Researcher: Mr. Md Motiur Rahman
The poor inhabitants around the Chalan Beel (Lake)
area in the north of Bangladesh seek alternative livelihoods
during the lean season. Md Motiur Rahman, a student
of Anthropology of Rajshahi University, will evaluate
the crisis coping strategies adopted by them. The objective
of this study is to analyze the survival strategy of
the poverty groups in the region and see whether they
could be replicated or adapted in other places. Another
objective of this project is to assist this young researcher,
under the guidance of a professor, to build his capacity
in participatory action research (PAR).
