Date palm trees grows in abundance in certain districts
of Bangladesh like Faridpur, Kushtia, Pabna, Khulna
etc. Produce from the date palm trees have been a traditional
natural resource of this country and once the centre
of a booming household manufacturing trade. But due
to the increasing levels of poverty these trees have
suffered due to neglect and misuse. This research therefore
aims to revive the traditional industry by exploring
the marketing possibilities of two kinds of palm tree
produce: the khejur (dates) and Taal. The use of indigenous
technology will also be used at the field level to enhance
the quality of the produce derived from its fruits and
juices, for example the production of vinegar, and syrup.
