The slum-dwellers and squatter community exist more
prominently in the capital city of Dhaka. The main objective
of the study is to formulate a rehabilitation programme
for the slum and squatter households of the Sattala
Bastee area.The rehabilitation programmes objectives
will be as follows: to demonstrate the proper authority
and justification of allotting a portion of the land
to the squatters as human rights and as citizen's right;
To build a case whereby the authority with vast unplanned
and vacant land knowingly allowed the migrants to come
and make their home and given them the right to claim
a share of the land; To propose a plan where by a portion
of the land can be proposed for rehabilitation of the
these people; To build a campaign in the proper quarters
of the political and bureaucratic fields to make the
project implementable.
