Gamsha (Towel) is an essential item for almost all
the members of every family in Bangladesh. Large number
of people of some particular localities are engaged
in making and marketing Gamshas. The major objectives
of this study are to (i) review the literature of the
history of Gamsha; (ii) discuss with the personalities
like Bibi Russel who have introduced Gamsha in the international
export market and seek advises from them for improved
designing and marketing; (iii) study the qualities of
Gamsha and behaviours of different specialised markets
of Gamsha in Bangladesh.
