Researcher : M.I. Nahil

Bangladesh is a developing country of the third world. In recent time the two very concerning issues in Bangladesh are, no doubt, poverty and violence. These two manifold problems have versatile negative impact on the whole nation. Although development of capitalism and industrialisation is evident, Bangladesh is yet is a rural-based country. Almost 80% of total population still live in rural areas. But for various reasons a lot of people migrate every year from rural to urban areas. Among them a good number of migrants are women, who mainly live in slums of urban areas. This research proposal is designed on those women-migrants in the context of rural poverty and violence. There is a strong possibility to have positive relation among poverty, violence and migration of women. This research, on the above issue, is to determine whether there is a positive relationship among poverty, violence and migration of rural women to urban areas or not. If yes, then what is the reality of the rural poverty and violence and what are the conditions of the women-migrant.
