It is almost a natural phenomenon that the parents
always desire a better standard of living for their
next generation. The present study is an attempt to
search and analyse the strategies of different professionals
in this regard, whose incomes are also very low to achieve
a better standard of living. Moreover, it is also true
that income is not the only determinant to fulfil this
desire. There remain many influential components to
earn a better livelihood for the next generation. The
objectives of the project fall within two broader issues,
(i) coping strategies for the low-income group people,
and (ii) inter-generational expectation of better standard
of living for the next generation. Specific objectives
of the study are to collect the cases of struggle, sacrifice
of the parents for the improved livelihood of their
next generation and then analyse the cases. On the basis
of the findings, some practical examples can be established
where poor people of the present generation will be
able to open the gate of prosperity for their children.
Mainly case study methodology will be adapted for the
study. This is a capacity building research for the
young researchers.
