The main objective of the project is to develop a group of animators through development theatre who will work with the working communities for improving their intellectual and decision - making capacities. Animators so evolved from the project will apply Participatory Action Research methodology. Specific objectives of the project are to:

1. Inquire about the causes, nature and extent of poverty;
2. To develop the working people of the rural villages as self -dependent through improving their intellectual and decision making capabilities;
3. Application of Paolo Freirie's technique in problem identification;
4. Diversifying the use of developmental participatory theatre for poverty alleviation and developing the working class people as the multipliers of awareness creating force;
5. Identification of collective initiatives for poverty alleviation and strategies to implement it; and
6. Creating a group of animators through practicing action research who will later shoulder the responsibility of future PAR in the study area.
The researcher will use a mixture of '' Forum Theatre'' and PAR methodology. According to '' Forum Theatre'', the members of the group will identify their own problems, which they will try to present before the audience through drama. In the second stage, these groups will present their drama before the audience. The audience, through the drama, will be invited to solve the problems presented. At this stage, a conservation and discussion will be initiated among the actors of the drama and the audience.
